People & Onboarding

Most churn happens in the first 30–90 days, exactly where ad-hoc onboarding fails. This section makes a new hire productive fast with outcome-based milestones, not reading lists.

timeline
title New hire — first 90 days
Day 1 : Accounts + Azure DevOps + dev environment
Day 30 : Ship a small change through the full pipeline
Day 60 : Own a feature end to end
Day 90 : Run a QA cycle or a support rotation
  • Day-1 Checklist — accounts, access, dev environment, first PR.
  • 30 / 60 / 90 — outcome milestones per track (backend / frontend / mobile / QA).
  • Tools & Access — single table; also the offboarding audit surface.
  • Communication Norms — async-default: chat vs work item vs wiki vs meeting.
  • Leave & Remote — leave flow, remote norms, core hours.
  • Offboarding — revoke access keyed to the tools table, handover, knowledge transfer.
